WHATEVER YOU MAY HAVE HEARD OR READ,

IT'S NOT OVER!

We oppose FirstEnergy's proposed
Geauga County power line

Because it will devalue the properties it crosses and those adjacent harming not only the property owner(s), but also by extension the entire community. The owners will be obliged to continue paying taxes on the land despite its reduced value.

Because it will damage the natural beauty and fragile ecology of the lands it crosses.

Because it will lessen the agricultural productivity of the land it impacts thereby reducing farm income and purchasing power in the community.

Because it will create an open pathway through our communities inviting trespassers on snowmobiles and off-road vehicles.

Because there do exist civil corridors where the surrounding area has already absorbed the negative impacts described above. Let FirstEnergy place their new line in one of these locations. Granted the need for more power in the Middlefield area, there is no valid reason why FirstEnergy should be allowed to inflict such disruption in untouched spaces to deliver it there.
